Sirui Announces a 24mm f/2.8 1.33x Anamorphic Lens

Chinese manufacturer Sirui Optical has announced the release of a third anamorphic lens, adding a 24mm wide-angle to its existing 50mm and 35mm lenses. With the 1.33x squeeze factor, this new lens still extends the horizontal field of view up to 33%.

The new lens is constructed of 13 elements arranged in 10 groups, and an 8-bladed iris. The maximum aperture at f/2.8 is 1 1/3rd stops smaller than the 50mm and 35mm f/1.8 lenses, and at between 125mm and 128mm it is slightly longer than the previous models too. Its closest focusing distance of 0.6m is a little better than the 0.85m of the other lenses, and it accepts a 77mm filter instead of the 67mm of the 50mm/35mm lenses.

The innovative optical lens element structure suppresses optical aberration and distortion and contributes to a high-resolution 2.4:1 widescreen image with silky bokeh and blue light streak.

Combining Aircraft Aluminum housing with German Manufactured Schott optical lens elements, the portable anamorphic lens generates sublime imaging with minimum optical distortion and focus breathing. In common with the previous lenses this model will come in a native Micro Four Thirds mount, but with adapters for Sony E, Canon EF-M, Nikon Z, and Fujifilm X cameras.

On the Indiegogo campaign, there is right now a 25% discount, at $749, so we should expect the standard price to be around $1000.
No info yet about when the campaign will be launched or when the lenses will ship.
