Tilta Unveils a New Cage for Fujifilm X-H2 and X-H2S Cameras
Fujifilm debuted the 8K-capable X-H2 last month, and Tilta has a new camera cage for it. Tilta, which recently released a camera cage with an integrated SSD for Sony cameras, offers a simpler alternative for Fujifilm customers. While still photographers don’t often consider camera cages necessary, videographers frequently do since they make mounting the camera to stabilization points simpler and more secure. Cages also offer more mounting points for these circumstances because video production might sometimes necessitate a lot of other equipment, which increases the camera’s adaptability.
The new Fujifilm X-XH2 and X-H2S cage from Tilta features a cold shoe mount, an ARRI standard rosette, a NATO rail, an M3 port, and numerous 1/4-20 screw holes. It is suitable with both cameras. According to Tilta, the cage’s integrated cushions provide complete camera protection. Additionally, it has an integrated Arca Swiss quick release that makes it simple and quick to mount into most gimbals. The cage can be left on the camera permanently without preventing complete operation because it doesn’t obstruct the battery compartment or controls.
“The cage provides protective armor for your camera body and features mounting points such as 1/4”-20 threads, a Rosette Connection and a Cold Shoe Receiver,” the company says. “The Top handle features several 1/4”-20 and 3/8”-16 threads as well as a single cold shoe receiver near the front of the handle. The Basic Kit includes a Manfrotto Quick Release plate for connecting to compatible Manfrotto Tripod Heads as well as a a VILTROX Lens Adapter Support Bracket that connects directly to the camera cage.”
The cage and attachments won’t obstruct the vari-angle touchscreen’s full functionality, according to Tilta, and it can even flop out to the left of the camera and be fully flexible when used in conjunction with a rail extension.
“The bottom of the cage connects to your camera body with a 1/4″-20 screw and utilizes an additional point of contact via a safety locating point that helps the camera from moving within the cage,” the company adds.
The cage has a total weight of 200 grams and is made of aluminum alloy. Tilta provides a wide range of cage-compatible attachments, such as improved focusing handles, hardwood handles, and several baseplates and add-ons.
The X-XH2 and XH2S camera cage from Tilta retails for $119.
