Aputure Introduces the Amaran 150c and 300c Lights
Aputure has introduced the Amaran 150c and 300c point-source LEDs, as well as the Spotlight SE projection lens and Light Dome Mini SE light modifiers that go with them. The Amaran 150c and 300c are the company’s first 300W and 150W point-source full-color LED lights, respectively. They guarantee high-quality light output and combine RGBWW full-color control with Bowens Mount adaptability. They also include integrated controls.
The amaran 150c and 300c deliver stunning color quality with an increased bi-color correlated color temperature (CCT) range of 2,500K to 7,500K, similar to Aputure’s professional LS 600c Pro light. The lights provide 360-degree HIS color control and green-magenta adjustment, covering more than 90% of the Rec. 2020 color space. The lights promise consistent, color-accurate light output thanks to their high Color Rendering Index (CRI) and Television Lighting Consistency Index (TLCI) ratings of 95.
An etched-glass optical element sits in front of each light’s LED chips and combines the output of all the LEDs into a single, unified beam of light. This guarantees optimum compatibility with Bowens Mount optical modifiers, such as the new amaran Spotlight SE and the Fresnel 2X from Aputure. Any Bowens Mount soft light modifier, including the brand-new amaran Light Dome Mini SE, is compatible with the amaran 150c and 300c. A newly designed high-efficiency heat sink and silent active cooling system are features of the new Amaran 150c and 300c lamps.
A simple control panel built into the body of the lights is present. No separate control box is present. The Sidus Link smartphone app enables wireless control of the fixtures as well. Users of the lights can save up to 10 Custom FX and 10 Music FX presets, and they offer step-less control over the output from 0 to 100% power.
The Aputure Amaran 150c and 300c can be operated wirelessly using an app or on-light controls. Aputure’s new Amaran 150c and 300c lights are aimed towards content producers and filmmakers. The amaran 150c and 300c, which are strong in point-source color, provide creatives a level of control that no other amaran fixture can, according to Aputure.
“The Amaran 150c and 300c are incredibly valuable additions to any filmmaker’s or content creator’s lighting kit because of their color control, adaptability, and build quality.”
The Amaran 150c and 300c lights can be powered by DC through the use of battery systems. They can be powered by two Gold or V-mount batteries using Aputure’s 2-bay Battery Power Station (separately supplied), which has 48V DC power inputs.
Preorders for the new lights are currently being taken. Amaran 150c costs $359, while Amaran 300c costs $569.
The company’s first projection lens modification is amaran Spotlight SE. The little optical modulator transforms light into a “powerful spotlight” that can increase the range of lighting for Bowens Mount point-source fixtures like the amaran 150c and 300c. It also has built-in shutters and various lens options for shaping light.
“For filmmakers and other producers who wish to give their scenes a distinctive aesthetic or atmosphere, precision light sculpting is essential. The Spotlight SE’s interchangeable lenses and integrated shutters enable fine-grained control over the output’s size and form, according to Aputure.
To provide a variety of light output, there are lenses that are 19 degrees and 36 degrees. The lamp has an adjustable beam angle, and an optional 18-leaf iris (available separately) can be used to alter the light’s quality further. Users of the amaran Spotlight SE can add an optional 18-blade iris to the spotlight to further regulate the light beam. The Spotlight SE 19-degree lens combined with the Amaran 300c produces a brightness of 22,330 lux at one meter and 5,600K color temperature.
A variety of drop-in patterns are compatible with the amaran Spotlight SE. For $335, the Aputure amaran Spotlight SE is currently up for preorder. The prices for the 19-degree and 36-degree lenses are respectively $159 and $149. There are also kits that come with a lens and a spotlight.
The first amaran Bowens Mount octabox soft light modulator is the Aputure amaran Light Dome Mini SE. It has a bright silver lining and an eight-sided deep parabolic shape. The modulator offers to convert directional soft light sources from point-source lamps like the Amaran 150c and 300c.
“The amaran Light Dome Mini SE is the ideal soft light modifier for filmmakers and creators needing a lightweight, nimble softbox,” says Aputure.
The Light Dome Mini SE has a quick-release support rod system and weighs 0.72 kilos (1.6 pounds). It’s perfect for mobile designers. The design of the Light Dome Mini SE encourages rounded reflections and lets light enter a subject’s eyes.
Preorders for the amaran Light Dome Mini SE cost $69.
