Hasselblad X2D Firmware Update 2.0
Hasselblad has released firmware update 2.0.0 for the X2D medium format mirrorless camera, which includes a slew of new features and usability improvements that vastly improve the camera’s capabilities. There are 15 changes in the X2D 100C firmware 2.0.0, all of which provide completely new functionality to the camera or vastly enhance current ones.
There have been eight new features implemented. Focus bracketing, a Picker Tool that enables manual white balance adjustment, and focuses peaking for manual focus assistance are all new features for the X2D. Additionally, the company now allows photographers to switch between horizontal and vertical stabilization alternatives in the Stabilization Mode settings.
Additionally, the camera now supports crop modes that let users choose different cropping ratios and adjust the mask opacity in the Crop Modes Setting. Hasselblad has included touch-based autofocus, where users can tap the touch screen to activate autofocus, a histogram overlay in Live View, and a sound cue for the self-timer. The Focus settings must have that final feature enabled.
In addition to these entirely new features, Hasselblad has made it possible to move between the nine-view mode and a 25-view mode in the browser, making it simpler to see groups of photographs. Additionally, the X2D 100C now offers batch deletion of photos from the nine or 25-image view modes. Photographers can enter batch deletion mode, choose multiple photographs, and remove images by tapping and holding an image on the screen or by pressing the delete button on the camera body.
With the X2D 100C, photographers may now manually adjust the color temperature and tint in Live View, and the light metering accuracy was increased by 3EV in what the manufacturer refers to as “weak lighting conditions.” According to Hasselblad, the company has improved live view image quality in the same low-light situations and has generally optimized focusing performance.
The JPEG image size has finally been reduced to approximately 40MB.
The Hasselblad X2D 100C firmware update 2.0.0 is available today and can be downloaded from the company’s website.
