The new CyanBird Carbon Fiber Tripod from Benro competes with the Peak Design Travel Tripod while costing less. The Benro CyanBird’s distinctive leg design was inspired by that of the Peak Design Travel Tripod, but it forgoes Peak Design’s sleek black appearance in favor of a dark gray, silver, and vivid ocean blue palette.

With its panning two-in-one tripod head connected, the Benro CyanBird weighs just 1.02 kg thanks to its carbon fiber legs and lightweight metal locks. The tripod has a height of 43.5 centimeters when closed and a maximum height of 152.5 centimeters when in use. The expanded center column is included in the maximum height. 18.2 cm is the tripod’s lowest height.

The Benro CyanBird can support up to 4.5 kg. For comparison, the weight of a Sony a7R V camera with a Sony FE 200-600mm f/5.6-6.3 G OSS lens is 2.8 kg.

There are multiple versions of the Benro CyanBird. The Benro CyanBird is available in a hybrid carbon fiber and aluminum variant, in which the lower four leg pieces are made of aluminum rather than carbon fiber. This results in a payload reduction to 4 kg and a maximum height reduction to 132 cm. This version has a N00P ball head and is made of aluminum and carbon fiber.

There is also a version made entirely of aluminum, with a maximum height of 156.5 cm and a weight of 1.2 kg.
