ProGrade Unveils Digital CFexpress Type B 4.0 Memory Card Gold

The new cards from the company offer nearly equal performance to the 1.3TB card it announced less than two months ago. The sole distinction appears to be in terms of maximum sustained performance and capacity options. The new ProGrade Digital CFexpress 4.0 Type B cards come in 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB sizes, whereas the Cobalt is only available in 1.3TB.

“These ProGrade Digital CFexpress 4 cards are the only CFexpress cards shipping in the market that leverage PCIe Gen 4 interconnect with NVMe 1.4c host controller interface. ProGrade Digital’s 4th generation CFexpress Gold cards are fully compliant with the newly released CFexpress 4.0 specification,” the company says.

Like the previous Cobalt cards, the new Gold cards claim read rates of up to 3,400 MB/s and burst write speeds of up to 3,000 MB/s. The main distinction between the two card sets is sustained performance. The Cobalt card guarantees a minimum sustained write speed of 2,800 MB/s, while the Gold cards guarantee a minimum sustained write speed of 2,400 MB/s.

ProGrade’s new cards aren’t just speedy; they’re also reasonably priced: the 512GB model costs $179.99, the 1TB model costs $399.99, and the 2TB model costs $799.99. The 512GB and 1TB models are now available, while the 2TB model will be available in December.
