Yongnuo Unveils the YN 50mm f/1.8 Z DA DSM Lens for APS-C Nikon Z Cameras
Yongnuo has introduced the YN 50mm f/1.8 Z DA DSM prime lens for APS-C Nikon Z mirrorless cameras. The new lens claims to be an inexpensive solution for Nikon Z shooters using APS-C cameras such as the Nikon Z50 and Zfc.
The f/1.8 prime weighs about 148 grams and measures about 60 millimeters long. The lens contains eight elements in eight groups and a seven-blade aperture diaphragm. The lens has a close-focus distance of approximately 0.45 meters, yielding a maximum magnification of 0.14x.
While Yongnuo’s lens lineup can be a little confusing with all the different models of lenses with similar focal lengths and maximum apertures, one thing that is consistent throughout the company’s lineup is that all of the lenses are relatively inexpensive when compared to their first-party counterparts, and the new YN 50mm f/1.8 Z DA DSM is no exception. The new 50mm prime also has autofocus, which is a remarkable feat for a third-party lens at this price.
The lens costs approximately $118 in Hong Kong, making it one of the most economical lenses for the Nikon Z system.
