Xencelabs Announces the Pen Display 16
Xencelabs has launched the new Pen Display 16. This ultra-slim and lightweight 4K OLED pen display offers rich color, precise pen performance, and remarkable portability. The new tablet’s 12mm thickness and 1.21 kilogram weight make it ideal for travel.

For users who might have limited desk space or would like to add a conveniently sized pen display to their workflow, look no further than the Xencelabs Pen Display 16. The tablet features a 4K OLED screen in a silent, fan-less aluminum rear body, a high color gamut coverage of 1.07 billion colors (98% Adobe RGB, 98% P3-D65, 99% sRGB, 99% REC 709, 82% REC 2020), and what the company claims is an outstanding glare reduction screen. Xencelabs is offering the tablet in two configurations: on its own or as a package that includes all of the cables and peripherals included in the stand-alone version, as well as the Mobile Easel, additional power adapters, the display hub and fast keys tool, and numerous additional cords.
Xencelabs intends to market the new pen display to educators, students in art and design programs, and professionals in a variety of creative fields, including animation, game development, and 3D design/visual effects. The new pen display includes what the company calls Virtual Tablet, which allows users to operate numerous displays using a single Xencelabs pen.
“Faculty, students and IT personnel will appreciate the limited desk space the unit occupies, as well as the robust styling, easy set up and intuitive driver. Additionally, the product would fit extremely well with student loaner programs, whereby students would be allowed to take the Xencelabs Pen Display 16 from classroom to home and back for assignments, exams, or other projects,” Thompson adds.
The Xencelabs Pen Display 16 connects to any compatible PC, Mac, or Linux device via a single USB-C to USB-C cable, with an optional 10-Bit hub included in the bundle edition for customers who need an HDMI or Display Port connection. The new display bundle also includes a protective carrying box and the Xencelabs Mobile Easel, which is an adjustable stand for the pen display with two sketching angles (18.3 degrees and 32 degrees). The Desktop Easel incorporates a standard VESA mount for connecting to articulating arms and a rapid release mechanism that allows users to convert between desktop and mobile/travel environments without the use of screwdrivers or other equipment.
The Pen Display 16 includes two pressure-sensitive pens (with 8,192 levels of sensitivity) designed for ergonomic or artistic use, as well as an optional Quick Keys shortcut remote that provides five customizable groups of eight keys, for a total of 40 customizable shortcuts per application, depending on the tablet version.
The Xencelabs Pen Display 16 Bundle will be available in May for $1,249, while the Xencelabs Pen Display 16 Essentials, which includes the Pen Display 16, two pens with cases, a USB-C to USB-C cable, and a carrying case, will be available for $999 by the end of June.
