Fujifilm Releases a Limited Edition Instax Mini Evo Hybrid Instant Camera for Its 90th Anniversary

Fujifilm released a limited-edition Instax Mini Evo hybrid instant camera to commemorate the company’s 90th anniversary. Fujifilm’s 90th Anniversary Bundle includes the stylish new Instax Mini Evo edition in two colors: dark silver and titanium gold. The bundle includes a premium-finish case, lens cap, and limited-edition matching strap. The dark silver version has gray accents on the cap and strap, while the titanium gold camera comes with gold-trimmed accessories. In both situations, the camera bears Fujifilm’s original logo from 1934, the same as the commemorative X100VI body.

Aside from its look and accompanying accessories, the Instax Mini Evo Limited Edition is identical to regular Instax Mini Evo cameras. It’s a hybrid digital/instant film camera that takes digital photos that can be instantaneously reproduced on Instax Mini instant film.

The camera uses digital image capture to provide users with 10 lens effects and 10 film effects, for a total of 100 potential combinations. Users navigate through these various effects utilizing retro-inspired controllers. The film dial activates film effects, whilst the lens dial controls lens effects. A “film advance lever” is also used to instantly print a specific photo. Users interact with their images and select photos for printing using the camera’s back 3-inch LCD, which has roughly 460k dots.

The camera has a fixed 28mm (equivalent) f/2 lens with a minimum focusing distance of approximately four inches (just under ten centimeters). The Instax Mini Evo features a tiny CMOS image sensor (Type 1/5). This is much tiny than almost any smartphone image sensor, but it is meant to capture images printed on Instax Mini instant film.

The camera includes a built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery that can print up to 100 times on a single charge and charges via USB. It also has internal memory for 45 images, but a microSD card slot allows you to store more shots. In addition to printing photos taken with the Instax Mini Evo, users may wirelessly link their smartphones to the camera and print photos from them.

The Fujifilm Instax Mini Evo Limited Edition 90th Anniversary bundle is currently available for presale for $229.95 in dark silver and titanium gold colorways, and is slated to arrive on October 25th.
