Dockcase Unveils a MagSafe Solid State Drive Enclosure

Dockcase announced a new $79.99 MagSafe Solid State Drive enclosure for smartphone filmmakers. The enclosure can magnetically attach to the rear of the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max and connect to a USB cable along the back to unlock all of the handheld’s recording modes.
The device is specifically built for the 2230 and 2242 M.2 NVMe Solid State Drives (SSD), which can support up to two terabytes (2TB) of storage capacity and 10Gbps data transfer speeds via USB 3.2. The 53-gram (without the SSD) enclosure can record and store 4K 60fps ProRes video for up to 150 minutes (compatible with the iPhone 15Pro and Pro Max).

According to the company, the Dockcase Smart Magsafe M.2 NVMe SSD Enclosure offers numerous advanced capabilities that meet and exceed the growing demand for iPhone filmmakers’ efficient, portable, high-capacity storage solutions.

Like other Dockcase Smart devices, the SSD enclosure includes a D-Key Control and display screen that uses a single-click function to rotate between real-time information displays about the SSD’s health, data transfer, and storage details. This ensures that the SSD is always performing at its best while providing accurate drive lifespan predictions.

The 59.3mm by 14.5mm aluminum alloy container also includes Dockcase’s power-loss protection, which helps secure data saved on the device and keeps it intact even during an unexpected power outage. It also includes an improved read-only mode to prevent any unintentional file deletions or alterations before they can be properly backed up.

The enclosure has two USB-C ports: a data port with USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10Gbps) and 90W PD passthrough and a power port with a maximum 100W PD 3.0 power input. According to the enclosure’s documents, this can charge a device while managing big files and data transfers without interruption.

The new Dockcase Smart Magsafe M.2 NVMe SSD Enclosure costs $79.99, which does not include the SSD.
