NiSi Launched the New Magnetic Filter System JetMag Pro
NiSi, a lens and filter manufacturer, has launched JetMag Pro, a revolutionary magnetic filter system for demanding photographers and videographers.
The NiSi JetMag Pro system includes a wide choice of filters to meet practically every photo and video demand, with each filter including an ultra-slim design that NiSi claims decreases vignetting. Furthermore, each filter includes an all-aluminum frame and high-quality optical glass, ensuring great resolving performance with minimum color shifts. NiSi’s Nano-Coating Technology promises to increase image quality while reducing reflections and glare.
Neutral density (one, two, three, four, six, and ten stop strengths), UV/IR cut, UV, circular polarizing, white and black mist, and star point effect filters are all available. The filters are all 82mm in diameter, but the system also includes magnetic adapter rings for use with lenses of lesser diameters. Adapters are available in sizes ranging from 62mm to 77mm.
Unlike some magnetic filter systems, which have filters that peel off the adapter, NiSi uses a twist-lock construction. Unlike a standard screw-on filter, this revolutionary approach only requires a slight rotation. NiSi says that their JetMag Pro filters have unprecedented magnetic strength.
In addition to the new JetMag Pro filters, the system includes magnetic front caps that firmly attach to the front of any JetMag Pro filter. This front cap is also made of aluminum and claims to protect the user’s filters and lenses in tough situations and during transportation.
The NiSi JetMag filters cost $79.99 each and go up to $119.99. They are also available in custom kits designed for specific applications. The NiSi JetMag Pro Filmmaker Kit costs $469 and includes a customized caddy pouch carrying case, two front covers, and a variety of neutral density and mist filters.
The Landscape Kit costs $479 and includes three different ND filters, a circular polarizing filter, caps, and a carrying case. Some filters are presently on backorder and will delivery in November.
