Peak Design and Carryology Unveils a New Product Line for Photographers
Peak Design, a leader in carrying solutions as well as photography gear and accessories, and Carryology, a company dedicated to finding better ways for people to bring gear of all kinds, have collaborated to create the Peak Design x Carryology Essentials Collab, a curated collection of Peak Design’s best offerings for photographers on the move. The limited edition “capsule” has almost everything a photographer requires, including Peak Design’s iconic Slide and Slide Lite camera straps, the company’s Leash and Cuff for handheld shooting, the Capture Clip that supports all of Peak’s straps, and the company’s Mobile Tripod.
“Since Peak Design’s initial Kickstarter campaign, they’ve been shaking things up, constantly looking for new ways to innovate carry. And their clever designs have kept the industry on edge,” adds Carryology’s editor-in-chief, Michael Knipsel. “Partnering with them for a Carryology upgrade? It’s more than just exciting; it’s a true privilege. “There’s something special about taking what already works and improving it together.”
“We’ve been kicking around collaboration ideas with Carryology for nearly as long as we’ve known them,” says Peak Design’s founder and CEO. “There’s no other community on the planet that gets our design ethos as well as these folks do, and now we’re proudly paying homage to that.”
While this package does not include Peak Design’s full-size Travel Tripod, which is a favorite choice for many, eliminating the full-size tripod reduces the kit’s cost and size. Carryology claims to have handpicked the Peak Design products for the cooperation and given each one its own unique design and flare. Carryology’s Mobile Tripod and Capture Clip use the Auxikko pattern, inspired by ancient Japanese Kikkō (hexagonal plates used in samurai armor) and auxetics (materials designed to strengthen under stress).
Beyond Carryology’s signature colors and design patterns, Peak Design’s engineers made some changes to the included products, pulling influence from the company’s new Outdoor Line. Peak used its innovative Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE) threads into the special edition camera straps to increase durability. Peak Design x Carryology straps are more resistant to slashing and abrasions than Peak Design’s normal straps, as proved with a machete.
The Peak Design and Carryology Essentials Collab is now available, with each product sporting a 10-15% price premium over its ordinary counterparts due to the enhanced designs and material enhancements.
