Lexar Professional Workflow 6-Bay Docking Station and Workflow Portable SSD
Photographers need a place to keep all of their files after they’ve finished the shooting, which is where Lexar’s new, albeit familiar, storage solutions come in.
The Professional Workflow 6-Bay Docking Station allows users to design custom workflow solutions to meet their individual requirements. It is a modular storage solution that combines portable SSDs, card readers, and other components to build a customized workstation for photographers and videographers. The device has Thunderbolt 4 interface for 40Gbps data transfer speeds and can use all six bays at the same time.
In an example workflow, four of the bays might be used for Lexar Workflow Portable SSDs, one for a CFexpress Type B card reader, and the final slot for an SD reader. It’s worth noting that four of the bays support speeds of up to 10Gbps, while the two on the right support the maximum 40Gbps Thunderbolt 4 specification.
The Thunderbolt 4-equipped workstation has a front USB-C and USB-A connector, can daisy chain with other docks, and supports connected monitors up to 8K resolution. The back of the metal shell features three USB-C ports: one for daisy-chaining docks, one for an 8K display, and one for power. The 6-Bay Docking Station is powered by a 140-watt GaN charger that comes included. The workstation incorporates an integrated fan to provide consistent performance throughout all six bays.
The new readers listed above are intended to function with the new Workflow 6-Bay Docking Station. Furthermore, the device is compatible with Lexar’s latest Workflow Portable SSD devices. These IP68-rated drives, with maximum read and write speeds of 2,000 MB/s, function as ordinary portable drives when not placed into the Workflow 6-Bay Docking Station. The drives come in two sizes: 2TB and 4TB.
The Worfklow 6-Bay Docking Station costs $599.99 and delivers without any drives or readers. The Workflow Portable SSD 2TB costs $299.99, while the 4TB SSD costs $499.99.
The Workflow products will become available this month.
