AstrHori Unveils a New Compact AF 27mm f/2.8 APS-C Lens
AstrHori, known for its low-cost optics, introduces the 27mm f/2.8 lens, a tiny and lightweight option for APS-C mirrorless cameras. Weighing only 167 grams and equipped with autofocus, it is ideal for everything from spontaneous street photography to professional video production.
AstrHori’s AF 27mm f/2.8 lens joins the autofocus market with calm confidence, promising to be an affordable and portable solution for mobile makers.
AstrHori has earned a reputation for producing lenses that prioritize usability. The brand is well-known for its manual prime lenses and has gained popularity among enthusiasts looking for a simple design. With the AF 27mm f/2.8, AstrHori expands into autofocus technology while maintaining its focus on providing outstanding value.
The lens’s main optical design consists of six elements divided into five groups. The aperture varies from f/2.8 to f/16, allowing either shallow depth of field or fine focus throughout the frame. It also has a minimum focusing distance of 30 cm.
Regarding autofocus capability, AstrHori’s lens employs an STM (stepping motor) in conjunction with a leading screw mechanism, promising a smooth, silent operation. The internal focus mechanism increases longevity by guarding against dust and debris.
The autofocus system supports eye recognition and face tracking.
The AstrHori AF 27mm f/2.8 is currently available for preorder in Nikon Z mount for $126. The lens is also available from Pergear. The lens will also be available in E and X mounts in the near future, but they are not yet for sale.
