Viltrox Introduces a New 35mm f/1.7 Autofocus Lens
Viltrox has launched a new 35mm f/1.7 autofocus lens for Nikon Z, Sony E, and Fujifilm X-mount APS-C cameras. The lens promises exceptional quality in a compact and lightweight package.
The Viltrox AF 35mm F1.7 Air Series lens weighs 170g and measures 64mm by 54.7mm. The maker claims it is small enough to fit in the palm of the hand or a pocket. Knowing its target market, Viltrox claims it is lighter than most smartphones while still promising professional-grade performance.
The Viltrox AF 35mm F1.7 Air Series consists of 11 elements divided into nine groups. These include extra-low dispersion (ED) glass and aspheric elements, which the makers claim reduce distortion and chromatic aberration. The lens also has a multilayer coating to decrease flare and ghosting.
The lens features a nine-bladed aperture, which the firm claims offers smooth and creative bokeh. The lens communicates fully electronically with Nikon, Fujifilm, and Sony mirrorless cameras, and a stepping motor drives autofocus.
The Viltrox AF 35mm F1.7 Air Series lens is available now for $179.
