Laowa’s latest lenses are the first tilt-shift macros with an f/2.8 maximum aperture for full-frame mirrorless cameras. However, because to their huge image circles, they can also be utilized on medium-format cameras, such as Fujifilm GFX system cameras.

The Laowa 55mm f/2.8 and 100mm f/2.8 Tilt-Shift 1x Macro lenses include an accurate tilt range of +/- 10 degrees, +/- 12 millimeters of shift, and 1:1 macro magnification.

Tilt and shift allow photographers to easily produce an extremely small depth of field or a wider depth of field. Tilt-shift lenses allow for both creative and practical effects. Venus Optics notably mentions product photography as a great application for tilt-shift lenses, particularly with the new Laowa lenses’ 1:1 macro capability.

The lenses include two rotation systems, allowing photographers to rotate the lens at the camera mount. This allows for more control over tilt direction when shooting.

The Laowa 55mm f/2.8 Tilt-Shift 1x Macro lens has 14 lens elements divided into 11 groups. The lens has an f/2.8-22 aperture range, 15 aperture blades, and a minimum focusing distance of 27 cm (10.6 in). The lens weighs over 1,345 kilos (just under three pounds) and measures roughly 169 millimeters (6.6 inches) long. The lens accepts 77mm front filters.

The 100mm f/2.8 lens has 13 elements in ten groups and, like its sibling, has an aperture range of f/2.8-22. The 100mm lens has 15 aperture blades and accommodates 77mm front filters. The minimum focusing distance is 32 cm (12.6 in). The lens measures 162 millimeters (6.4 inches) long and weighs 1,215 grams (2.7 pounds).
