TTArtisan Announces the 75mm f/2 AF Prime Lens for L-Mount Cameras

TTArtisan, based in Shenzhen, China, began operations in 2019. Since then, it has launched an amazing line of inexpensive lenses for APS-C and full-frame cameras.

The TTArtisan AF 75mm f/2 portrait prime lens, which was previously only available for E-mount and Z-mount, is now available in an L-mount variant. This is TTArtisan’s first autofocus lens for L-mount cameras.

The optical design for the 75mm lens consists of ten elements organized into seven groups. The lens’ optical construction, which includes one extra-low dispersion element and four high index elements to eliminate chromatic aberration and improve image quality, offers superb sharpness and resolution.

A lead screw stepping motor controls autofocus, allowing for rapid, quiet, and accurate focusing. Also, despite being third-party, TTArtisan claims that the mounts fully support eye, animal, and vehicle detection AF for accurate focus regardless of subject.

The 75mm f/2 lens, designed for portrait photographers, includes many features found in a full frame prime walkabout lens. Despite its all-metal design, the lens is lightweight, weighing only 329 grams. The closest focusing distance is 0.75 meters, and the angle of view is 32 degrees. When it comes to filters, the 75mm f/2 lens accepts 62mm ones.

The aperture ring, which is becoming increasingly popular among lenses, features a click mechanism for a tactile sensation. The 75mm f/2 lens also incorporates a USB-C port for firmware upgrades, which has become a popular feature in recent years.

The TTArtisan AF 75mm f/2 L-mount lens costs $200, but the E-mount and Z-mount variants are often available for considerably cheaper, around $170.
