At NAB 2025 in Las Vegas, Chinese company SmallRig presented the new X-Touch Smart Triple-Proof V-Mount Battery X99, the company’s new V-mount battery engineered for filmmakers and content creators who operate in demanding environments.
At NAB 2025 in Las Vegas, Chinese company SmallRig presented the new X-Touch Smart Triple-Proof V-Mount Battery X99, the company’s new V-mount battery engineered for filmmakers and content creators who operate in demanding environments.
The XTouch X99 features a 99Wh capacity (14.54V / 6800mAh), utilizing eight high-quality LG 18650 battery cells, and supports a maximum power output of 100W. Thanks to its 100W USB-C PD ports, the battery can be fully charged in around 2 hours.
The battery also features an integrated 2-inch HD colour touchscreen with an anti-glare finish, which provides users with visibility and control over individual power ports. Each output, including dual D-Tap, USB-C, USB-A, DC, and a BP battery plate interface, can be independently switched on or off via the screen to prevent unnecessary battery drain during storage or transport.
Built with a rugged design, the battery is resistant to water, dust, and impacts. Rated at IP54 for waterproofing and tested for drops up to 1.5 meters, it’s a viable option for a variety of outdoor or unpredictable shooting conditions. Its operating temperature ranges from -15°C to 60°C during discharging and 0°C to 45°C while charging.
The X99 also integrates with the SmallRig SmallGoGo mobile app. The app enables remote monitoring and management via Bluetooth, allowing users to check battery status, control power outputs, update firmware, and even locate batteries using a flashing indicator, features that can be especially useful on multi-camera sets.
Weighting 1.14kg, the battery also features multiple mounting options, provided via standard 1/4″-20 and 3/8″-16 threaded holes, offering compatibility with a variety of rig setups.
Scheduled for release on May 30, 2025, the X99 is currently available for pre-order at $299.99 in select markets including the U.S., certain EU countries and Japan. The package includes the battery itself and a 240W USB-C charging cable.
