About me
Aun Raza is a French-Pakistani photographer. With a background in design, education in multimedia arts, he grew up with a fondness for the arts. He grounded this interest first through drawing and painting; a passion for photography developed subsequently. Its immediacy offered him a way of capturing evanescent sketches and impressions for which he often felt restless.
His practice combines portraits of strong souls, street scenes and melancholic landscapes answered in a conversation that he desires long, dense, and often with humour.
Aun has conducted various photographic workshops, featured and exhibited internationally. He favours long-term projects, often focused on cities as living organisms and uses photography as a means of preservation and representation. Nominated for Prix Pictet 2019, Winner of Quai Branly Museum Grant 2018 - Paris, France, Winner of HIPA black & white category 2019 - Dubai, UAE, Myanmar Deitta Photo Competition - Yangon, Myanmar, Closer 2020 Award – Milan, Italy, among others.
