I was born in the cold and windy Northeast of England, Redcar to be exact, which is probably the reason why I have tried so desperately to leave the country. I have lived and worked in New Zealand, Australia, South Africa (Natal), South Africa (The Transvaal), Germany, Saudi Arabia and Spain which is where I now live permanently. I live in the Madrid Mountains with María my Spanish partner. There has been many careers over the years, some of which it wouldn’t be appropriate to mention. I served with the British Army in Northern Germany during the Cold War. My ultimate career was that of travel writer and photographer. I wrote the travel publication, Enchanting Spain, for John Beaufoy Publishing during this period as well as contributing to many magazines in Europe and the USA. María and myself wrote and produced a humorous radio show which ran for a very successful season in southern Spain. We are in the process of producing a similar show to be broadcast in the Portuguese Algarve.
