About me

I was born in 1985 in Istanbul. I’m originally from Rize. I graduated from the Department of International Relations of Anadolu University. I worked as a photojournalist in Star Newspaper and Gercek Hayat Magazine and as a freelance photographer in photo agencies. I am currently working as a photographer at Istanbul Fire Department. ? ? ?‍? My curiosity about photography started by listening to the stories of the construction workers of whom my father took pictures while working in Libya. Then in 2004, I started to photograph by taking photos of the tombs of Istanbul. I spent a long time just taking photographs of documents. After I got acquainted with Henri Cartier Bresson and Ara Güler, I tend towards street photography. Then my understanding of composition changed with Alex Webb and Gilles Peress. In my photographs, I try to show the loneliness of the modern man, the synthesis of the old and the new, and the aesthetic face of the street. I plan to do projects of street photography related to Istanbul in the time to come.
