About me

Gajanan Dudhalkar - Profile Graduating with a diploma in photography from Sir JJ School of Art in Mumbai in 1989, Gajanan Bhaurao Dudhalkar worked as an independent commercial and advertising photographer for four years before turning to photojournalism in Nikhil Wagle’s Marathi paper Aaple Mahanagar in 1992. He worked as Deputy Chief Photographer with MJ Akbar-edited The Asian Age from 1995 to 2003 before joining The Telegraph, the leading English daily from Eastern India. At The Telegraph, known for its powerful use of photograph in page layouts, he had a 13 year-long stint till February 2017. He got an opportunity to shoot diverse pictures which includes news photos for the daily news pages and the Saturday and Sunday features supplements. He shot several cover pictures for the popular Graphiti weekend magazine and Platinum, the monthly luxury magazine published by the newspaper. He also did food, and fashion photography for the paper. An avid instagrammer, Gajanan has won several awards for his photographs. His pictures were selected twice for Mumbai Moments , and he won the second prize in General News category in the Press Club-Mumbai Press Photo Contest 2003. Renowned photographer Raghu Rai selected two of his photographs for his newly launched, Creative Image Magazine
