About me
Hello! I am Goutam, from Kolkata, India and I am 43. My journey as a photographer does not have any script; rather I would be honest that I have never thought of looking at it as a journey. It has just happened as a natural process. I have never thought of taking photography as a serious profession. Rather, have always looked at it as a medium to relax myself and find solace. There have been times when I have not picked up camera for months. Even there are times I carried my camera, been into the actions for hours, but only ended up observing people without taking a shot. I’m not sure if I should call myself a photographer or just a person who takes interest in the happenings around. The people, their behavior, action and culture interests me and I try to capture those moments through my camera or even Mobile camera. My interest in photography dates back to the 90s when my father got me a fixed focus Kodak Kroma roll camera. I used to capture landscapes during travels and thereafter I got interested to wildlife photography. I got seriously interested in Street and daily life photography in 2015 approximately and thereon I am mostly focused to that as I like to connect with people and get to know lot about them, their culture, behaviour, and that helps me much in connecting me with them.
