Iwan Zahar has been involved in art, photography and wrote twenty photographic essays for two years in Kompas News paper from 1996 to 1999. He produced empat books: Belajar Matematikaku (Indonesian Edition) by Iwan Zahar, and Catatan Harian: Kiat Jitu Menembus New York (photographic notes: the way to New York), 12 KM (photobook), 11 kiat jitu fotografer professional (in process with Elexmedia). He works as senior lecturer in University Malaysia Kelantan. In the past three years, he produces 18 conferences papers in art, art criticism and art education.
