About me
Martin Agius: born in 1966 and started his first photography as a hobby in his younger years.
In July 2009 he was appointed as the Official Photographer for the AFM. Subsequently, in October 2009 was also appointed Official Photographer for the Malta Institute of the Professional Photography (MIPP). Also, a member of the UK-based the Societies.
In 2010 he retired from the Army and started a career as a Freelance photographer and as a Photojournalist for Media.link Communications.
Mentored by top-award winning Maltese photographer Kevin Casha, through his extensive Fast Track Photography courses, Martin placed first on the assignments given for his unique technique and appreciation of the medium, which over time grew substantially. He also successfully attended an advanced course in image editing at Ramon Sammut Enterprises.
He has had works exhibited during various Events and Exhibitions locally and abroad. Many of his photos have been published in local and overseas foreign media. He regularly takes part in the Societies monthly competition, where he has notched several Gold, Silver and Bronze awards. But, in January 2012 he managed to win the prestigious the Societies UK Press & News Photographer of the year 2011.
In 2012 he qualified and got his Associateship in Fashion & Glamour locally with the Malta Institute of the Professional Photography (MIPP) and abroad with the Societies’ UK.
2013 started with a new experience where he was chosen to judge the Societies 20 x 16 Print Competition in London, UK and judging photo competitions locally as well.
Martin is forever striving to broaden his knowledge in photography, and so expanding his passion and involvement in this art constantly. His most valid and unwaning work output, through experience and maturity, was always displayed with selfless dedication to the job's assignment, with great serious sobriety and, above all, extreme loyalty to all around him.
Described as having a work ethic, which makes him a most reliable, trustworthy individual, he is capable of working or running assignments in a forthright honest and righteous way. He supports and encourages a team-player environment, and integrates extremely well with all. Highly adaptable and resourceful, his photography output benefits his unique talents and character formation.
