7Artisans has unveiled a new 7.5mm f/3.5 all-metal, fully manual fisheye lens for Canon EF-mount APS-C DSLRs. The company has placed an emphasis on the build quality, which it claims is not only solid and durable but also employs a multi-layer nano-coating technique on the glass parts, which it claims effectively avoids flare and ghosting. According to 7Artisans, the lens also offers outstanding close-up shooting capabilities, allowing photographers to increase the visual impact of particular viewpoints.

The 7Artisans 7.5mm f/3.5 (207-degree field of view) is comprised of 11 elements organized into eight groups, including numerous low dispersion lenses. Because of the previously stated nano-coatings, 7Artisans claims that the front of the lens is both waterproof and oil-proof, and that the complete metal lens body has a premium tactile feel.

The 7.5mm f/3.5 fisheye lens from 7Artisans weighs 675 grams and measures 91mm tall by 87mm wide.

“The whole lens is made of all-metal material, which has a high-grade texture and is sturdy and durable,” says the company. “The use of robust all-metal materials ensures that daily knocks and use in harsh environments will not damage the optical elements inside the lens.”

It has an aperture range of f/3.5 to f/22 thanks to a nine-bladed diaphragm that can be clicked. As previously stated, the wide-angle lens has a close focusing distance of 0.29 meters or roughly 11.4 inches.

The lens includes a lotus-shaped integrated petal-style lens hood with a matte interior finish that, according to 7Artisans, prevents stray light from entering the lens and eliminates reflections. The integrated extension design also prevents bumps and protects the lens. It should be noted that the lens does not support using any front-mounted filters.
