7Artisans 85mm f/1.8 AF Lens for Nikon Z-Mount
In July, 7Artisans introduced an autofocus-equipped 85mm f/1.8 portrait prime lens for full-frame Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras. The budget-friendly $299 lens is now available for Nikon Z-mount cameras.
The full-frame lens contains ten elements divided into seven groups, including two low-dispersion elements and a pair of high-refraction elements to reduce aberrations. The lens features an 11-bladed aperture, which promises smooth, soft, out-of-focus areas and beautiful bokeh. The AF 85mm f/1.8 includes a manual aperture adjustment ring that has been de-clicked, and the aperture ranges from f/1.8 to f/16.
The lens has an STM autofocus mechanism and can focus near 0.8 m. Camera-specific features such as face and eye detection focusing modes are available. A focus mode switch allows the user to switch between autofocus and manual focus, while a big focus ring controls the focus.
The aluminum prime lens is reasonably compact and light. It measures 98 millimeters long and has a maximum diameter of 72 millimeters. The lens supports 62mm screw-on filters and comes with a lens hood. The Z-mount variant weighs 452 g.
The 7Artisans 85mm f/1.8 AF lens is now available in Nikon Z-mount at $299.
