DZOFilm Introduces the Gnosis 24mm Macro Cinema Lens
DZOFilm introduces its Gnosis 24mm T2.8 macro cine lens less than a month after releasing the Pictor 12-25mm T2.8 parfocal cinema lens.
The Gnosis 24mm macro lens from DZOFilm has many of the same key features as the Gnosis 32mm, 65mm, and 90mm prime macro lenses from the company, but it has a larger field of view. Full-frame format cameras have a field of vision of 83.8 degrees, while VV format cameras have a field of view of 88 degrees.
The Gnosis 24mm T2.8 lens has a minimum focus distance of 15.5 cm and a maximum magnification ratio of 0.8:1 at its focal length. The Gnosis 32mm, 65mm, and 90mm macro lenses, which are its counterparts, offer magnification ratios of 1:1, 1.33:1, and 1.5:1, respectively. One of the new Gnosis prime’s distinctive selling features over rival full-frame cinema lenses is its incredibly close focusing distance.
The focus ring on the Gnosis macro cine lens series features a 300-degree revolution and is manually adjustable.
The T2.8 big apertures found in the Gnosis series enable good image quality in low-light conditions and a relatively shallow depth of field. The lens has a 16-bladed diaphragm for its aperture. The iris’s rotation angle is 62 degrees and is manually controlled.
The optical formula comprises 12 elements in 10 groups, including two low-dispersion elements and three high-refractive indexes (HRI) elements. The lens claims to provide colors with little chromatic aberration and rich contrast.
Aluminum alloy is used to construct all Gnosis lenses, including the new 24mm macro model. The 24mm lens weighs 2.79 pounds, making it the least heavy of the four (1,265 grams). This Gnosis lens is also the shortest at 100 millimeters. The lenses are easily swappable inside a rigged configuration because all four have an identical front diameter of 114mm, a 105mm filter thread, and a 0.8 gear mod.
The DZOFilm Gnosis 24mm T2.8 macro lens will cost $5,389 and be accessible mid-March in PL, EF, and LPL mounts. At $15,999, a three-lens package including the Gnosis 24mm, 32mm, and 65mm lenses will be offered. The three-lens kit includes a hard-shell carrying case created especially for it.
