Godox Unveils the Lux Elf Retro Flash
The Lux Elf Retro Camera Flash is the latest addition to Godox’s vintage lighting lineup. The new on-camera flash is a compact, simple lighting solution for novices.
The Lux Elf Retro joins Godox’s current retro-design portfolio, which includes the Lux Cadet Retro, Lux Senior Retro, and Lux Junior Retro.
The company’s newest light is a tiny model intended for novices and amateurs. That is evident in the flash’s style, which has a lovely, nostalgic vibe. Godox explains that this light is intended to make things easier, beginning with its portability. It weighs only 96 grams and is 2.76 by 3.82 by 2.09 inches, making it compact enough to fit in a pocket or small camera bag. Its modest size implies it will fit well on compact, travel-friendly cameras.
The new camera-mounted flash has a single contact point hot shoe and is compatible with all camera models. It has a built-in 7.4V 350mAh lithium battery that charges via USB-C and claims 400 flashes per charge. A sync port lets users connect an optional sync cable. The light has a guide number of 19.7 feet at ISO 100.
A slider on the back of the flash allows users to control power, with five distinct outputs ranging from 1/1 to 1/16. There are also two additional Optical Modes for added control. S1 activates the flash in response to another manual or TTL flash. S2 will disregard the initial flash.
The Godox Lux Elf Retro is available for pre-order now for $39.
