Godox Introduces the Xnano TTL Wireless Flash Trigger
Godox unveiled a tiny, minimalist flash trigger. The new Xnano is a wireless TTL flash trigger that works with most major camera systems. Godox is well-known for its lighting systems. The company calls the new trigger completely redefining the wireless flash trigger landscape.
The Xnano is quite small. It just measures 41 by 47 by 39 millimeters. That diminutive size attaches to cameras via an easy-mounting hotshoe and looks good even on smaller cameras. It weighs just 48 grams. The device is powered by a lithium battery and can be charged by USB-C in two hours. The USB-C interface also enables seamless firmware changes.
The Xnano’s main feature is the touchscreen-based interface, which makes altering controls easier and more intuitive. Photographers can use taps and swipes to modify power levels and other parameters. Alternatively, buttons on the side provide a more tactile experience. These buttons are also useful for photographers who operate with gloves on. A Screen Locking function protects kids from mistakenly modifying settings.
The screen is a high-definition OLED touchscreen with excellent contrast and a fast refresh rate. Users may easily adjust the screen brightness by sliding left or right, and there are plenty of options for indoor and outdoor use.
In terms of lighting control, the Xnano includes two-way TCM, which allows for quick switching between TTL and Manual modes. This allows for faster transitions between filming scenarios and more lighting control. Photographers will be able to adjust the power of all sets of lights at once, or modify each group separately for more precise control.
The unit connects via the 2.4GHz Godox Wireless X technology, which allows for dependable Godox/Flashpoint lighting management. A spare channel scanning mechanism prevents interference from other users on the same channel. The Wireless Sync function enables customers to connect the forthcoming vintage camera flash to the Xnano with a one tap, making pairing considerably easier. This feature will be extended to additional Godox lights via firmware updates.
The Godox Xnano is available in Canon, Nikon, Sony, Fujifilm, and Olympus versions. It’s priced at $89 for all versions and comes with a case and USB-C cable. Godox says the Xnano should begin shipping at the end of January.
