GoPro Now Offers Premium, Premium+, and Quik Subscriptions
There are now three levels of subscriptions available from GoPro: Premium, Premium+, and Quik.
“We’re excited to announce that GoPro subscribers and Quik app users can now pick between three subscription offerings,” GoPro explains in a press release. “With this comes the announce of a new Premium+ $99.99 GoPro subscription tier that offers additional features and benefits beyond the original $49.99 GoPro subscription tier, now known as ‘Premium.’”
GoPro Premium is the new moniker for what GoPro formerly called their “GoPro Subscription.” The subscription costs $50 per year and includes unlimited cloud storage for GoPro footage, 25GB of storage for videos shot with other cameras, synced mobile and desktop editing, automatic cloud uploads, automatic highlight videos, enhanced media management tools, and live streaming to GoPro.com and other social media platforms.
The Premium tier also includes GoPro store perks such as guaranteed camera replacement, up to 50% off accessories, $100 off a future GoPro camera purchase of $399.99 or more with subscription renewal, access to private virtual Subscriber Sessions, and double GoPro Awards payouts. It costs $25 for the first year and $50 to renew.
The new Premium+ subscription tier is intended for more advanced content creators. It is offered as a $50 upgrade for existing GoPro members and costs $100 per year. It contains all of the Premium perks, as well as HyperSmooth Pro video stabilization and up to 500GB of cloud storage.
The Quik subscription completes the three paid subscription offers. This is designed for non-GoPro users and costs $10 annually. It provides access to the Quik mobile app, which allows users to edit smartphone content. The program features automatic edits, 47 photo and video filters, 15 edit themes, 300+ original music tracks, and 150+ paid royalty-free tracks.
GoPro also announced that Quik Desktop is now available for MacOS. Quik will also be released for Windows later this year.
GoPro subscribers may use the Quik desktop app for free, which includes automated camera-to-cloud uploads of their most recent GoPro footage as well as unlimited GoPro cloud storage.
“Our new Quik desktop app syncs with our mobile app and cloud, making GoPro the ultimate content creation solution for beginners and advanced creators, alike,” says GoPro Founder and CEO Nicholas Woodman. “Quik’s auto-editing experience represents a convenient starting point for new creators, and our more advanced editing tools and ongoing developments in AI and computer vision ensure pro-minded users will enjoy enhanced capability as we continue to update our apps.”
