Insta360 Unveils the X3 Invisible Dive Kit
The new Insta360 X3 Invisible Dive Kit enables filmmakers to record underwater 360-degree footage completely flawlessly while also providing clear vistas beneath the waves. According to the producer, the new case is an improvement over the previous one because it not only enables the X3 camera to erase an attached selfie stick from footage completely but also makes the case invisible.
“With a new, innovative design, the case disappears completely for unobstructed, crystal clear 360 footage and seamless underwater stitching, with IPX8 waterproofing down to 164 feet (50 meters),” the company says.
The company says combining these features makes the case special and lets third-person footage be taken underwater, which was impossible before. The case was designed specifically to function with the X3 camera and has an “ultra-sealed” structure that enables it to operate dependably at depth. According to Insta360, the compact profile makes mounting and storing it easier than traditional bubble cases.
The company claims to have also solved the problem of underwater equipment fogging. To ensure that clear footage is not compromised, Insta360 claims to have made “big improvements” to the design and included anti-fog inserts with the cover.
The Insta360 app and desktop software also have AquaVision 2.0, an AI-powered tool that auto-corrects underwater coloration for a more natural-looking image. This feature goes particularly well with the new diving case.
The camera is now available as a set for $570, including the updated Invisible Dive case and a 114-centimeter Invisible Selfie Stick, Floating Hand Grip, and Lens Cap. The new dive case is sold separately for $100 for people who already possess the camera.
