Leica Q3 – The Perfect Tool
Eolo Perfido, Italian street photographer and portraitist, has tried out the new Leica Q3. Here are his thoughts:
“When photography tastes like asphalt.”
My name is Eolo Perfido, and I am a portrait photographer. Over the years, I have created advertising campaigns for top brands and prestigious magazines. I have been dedicated to fine art photography and my greatest passion: street photography.
“With my camera on my shoulder, I venture out with the desire to rediscover what surrounds us.”
The streets and their constant evolution become the place to recognize beauty just before it reveals itself. With my gaze always fixed on what is about to happen, the street photographer is invisible yet present, balancing between too early and too late.
“The street portrait”
Capturing people on the street is not easy. It requires empathy, conversational skills, and technique. When time is limited, and I cannot afford to miss the opportunity to capture a special person, my Leica Q3 with its 28mm Summilux lens allows me to express my full potential in any lighting conditions.
“Visual poetry”
Street photography is not just about form; it is a delicate visual poetry where verses are composed of shadows, movements, glances, and the unexpected relationships revealed through the photographer’s gaze and the deceptive geometry of framing.
“Traveling without a destination”
The street photographer does not need to go to the other side of the world to see far. Their ability to reconfigure what surrounds us is the secret behind their photography. Through their gaze, they unveil the hidden secrets of our everyday lives.
“My camera”
The Leica Q3 is the perfect Q. Fast, lightweight, and with an unprecedented file quality. When it is with me, I feel like I have a tool that will never abandon me, no matter what challenges the street asks me to face. Every day, step by step, shot by shot.
