Leica Announces the Ultravid Compact Colorline Lineup

The new Leica Ultravid Compact Colorline series includes four compact binoculars released today. These new binoculars are for “style-conscious adventurers, urban explorers, and nature lovers who appreciate precision optics in a sleek, colorful design.” They are colorful, and they come in two popular colors: Capri Blue and Apple Green. Each has a color-coordinated leather strap and a durable black leather case.

Built with Leica precision optics, the binoculars guarantee bright, sharp, high-contrast views even in adverse conditions. The front element has AquaDura coating, offering a clear view even in the rain.

The portable new binoculars come in two different strengths: the Leica Ultravid Compact 8 x 20 Colorline and the 10 x 25 Colorline. The first number indicates magnification eight times and ten times, respectively. The second number represents the front lens diameter, which ranges between 20 and 25 millimeters. The 8 x 20 and 10 x 25 binoculars have objective angles of vision ranging from 6.5 to 5.2 degrees, with minimum focusing distances of 1.8 and 3.2 meters, respectively.

The binoculars also differ slightly in size and weight. The smaller Ultravid Compact 8 x 20 variant measures 111 by 93 by 39 millimeters and weighs 230 grams, while the heavier-duty 10 x 25 binoculars measure 111 by 112 by 39 millimeters and weigh 255 grams.

Leica claims that the new binoculars’ compact, ergonomic design makes them easy to use and transport. The company promises a pleasant focusing experience using the focusing wheel, which doubles as the diopter compensation control. The metal binoculars are long-lasting and ideal for the discerning viewer.

The Leica Ultravid Compact 8 x 20 Colorline binoculars in Capri Blue and Apple Green cost $1,099, and the 10 x 25 versions cost $1,129. All four binoculars are currently available now.
