Nanlite Unveils the FC-120C LED Spotlight

The Nanlite FC-120C is a portable, low-cost full-color light for creative and indie filmmakers.

The FC-120C has a wide variety of outputs, claiming 12,850 lux at one meter with a reflector at 5,600 Kelvin and 5,740 lux in full-green. It has a CCT range of 2,700 to 7,500 Kelvin and can fine-tune white light by +/- 150 green/magenta levels. It boasts a color accuracy of 95 CRI and four built-in color modes: CCT, HIS, RGBW, and one for special effects.

It has a box-like monolight design with a strong handle incorporated into the top of the unit near the fan. The light’s rear panel includes a control screen, two control nobs, and tactile adjustment buttons. A DMX connection port at the bottom of the control face connects the FC-120C to a system of many light fixtures.

The FC-120C’s notable feature is its portability. Nanlite claims that at only 1.13 kilograms, it outperforms comparable fixtures in terms of weight and power.

In addition to manual controls, the light may be controlled using the Nanlink 2.0 software, which was recently updated and is compatible with phones and tablets. Nanlite also supplies a wireless remote with physical buttons for controlling the machine and accessing numerous settings.

The FC-120C employs the Nanlite FM mount, as do the rest of Nanlite’s FC family of lights. This is useful for individuals who are already familiar with the Nanlite ecosystem and want to smoothly integrate other modifiers and soft boxes. The kit also includes a Bowens mount adaptor, which allows for greater interoperability with industry-standard light modifier.

The FC-120C supports a wide range of power sources, including mains, V-mount, and power banks qualified for power delivery. An optional V-mount bracket can be combined with the light fixture to attach the battery beside the light.

The Nanlite FC-120C is currently available for purchase for just under $300.
