OnePlus Unveils OnePlus 12 Flagship Smartphone

The OnePlus 12 was launched in China to commemorate the company’s tenth anniversary. While the smartphone’s global release date remains early 2024, according to OnePlus’ US website, the Chinese site contains a lot more information about the upcoming device.

The OnePlus 12 has an eye-catching appearance and comes standard with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of flash storage. A high-end model, at least in China, offers 24GB of RAM and a terabyte of storage space. It remains to be seen what configurations prospective purchasers in other areas will have to pick from next year.

Along with strong memory, the device boasts 100W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging, which is a pleasant feature given that the otherwise outstanding OnePlus 11 and OnePlus Open both lacked wireless charging. The partnership between OnePlus and Hasselblad continues on the 12, as expected and teased. A 50-megapixel primary camera, a 64-megapixel periscope camera with 3x optical zoom, and a 48-megapixel ultrawide camera comprise the smartphone’s rear array.

The primary camera is the same Sony LYTIA that debuted in the OnePlus Open, therefore the OnePlus 12 boasts a 24mm f/1.7 lens and 1.12 m pixels.

The OnePlus 12 features a curved 6.82-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a customizable refresh rate of 1-120Hz. The panel promises a peak brightness of 4,500 nits for HDR content, which is extremely bright, and a luminance of 1,600 nits for more regular use.

The OnePlus 12 will be available in China in green, white, and black hues, with an IP65 dust and water resistance rating. This is a little improvement over the IP64 certification on the OnePlus 11 device, indicating slightly improved protection against water penetration.

International customers will not have to wait long to learn more about the OnePlus 12, which the firm plans to unveil early next year. As is customary, specific features and specifications may differ by area, but the Chinese launch provides customers elsewhere plenty of reason to be enthusiastic for the new flagship smartphone.
