Pergear Unveils a 5K Waterproof Action Camera
As the name suggests, the new Pergear 5K 50MP Wide Angle Action Camera can record video at up to 5K quality and shoot still photographs at up to 50 megapixels. The camera’s EIS electronic anti-shake feature offers superior video stabilization, and it is waterproof to 30 meters when used with the included protective case.
The action camera has numerous settings that users are used to, such as time-lapse video, slow motion, and selfie modes. It also has two screens: a 2-inch display on the back and a 1.3-inch display on the front. Touch controls are available on the rear screen.
Regarding video, the action cam’s 5K quality footage is limited to 30 frames per second, while 2.7K and 4K video are available at 60p frame rates. 1080p video can be shot at 120p, whereas 720p video can be taken at 240p.
The Pergear website lacks a thorough specifications list. However, The company adds that their new 5K action camera has a 170-degree field of view thanks to its built-in lens. The action camera also has a smartphone app that allows users to transfer photographs and videos directly from the camera to their phone. It can also be operated remotely via 2.4GHz.
Pergear’s 5K video is comparable to GoPro’s 5.3K video. Of course, image quality is much more than just resolution. Aside from the field of vision, Pergear does not clarify what image sensor it utilizes or provide any insight into the optical architecture of its action camera.
The Pergear 5K Action Camera is not only reasonably priced; the $80 package includes the camera, two batteries, a charger, a USB-C connection, a 2.4GHz remote control, a waterproof case, a shell clip, a 64GB microSD card, and various small mounting bracket pieces.
