Polaroid Unveils Now Generation 3 and Now+ Generation 3 Instant Cameras
Polaroid’s new Now Generation 3 and Now+ Generation 3 Instant Cameras offer clearer instant photographs in various lighting settings.
Starting with the regular Polaroid Now Generation 3, this is Polaroid’s traditional analog instant camera line. Compared to its predecessor, the appropriately called Now Generation 2, the new model has a better light meter location, a better range sensor, and an enhanced two-lens focusing mechanism. The camera has a built-in tripod mount, supports filters, and includes self-timer and double-exposure settings. “All in a classic Polaroid look, made with 40% recycled materials,” the business says.
The Polaroid Now Generation 3 lens includes six usable apertures ranging from f/11 to f/64, as well as optical grade PC and acrylic materials. Autofocus is available in two fixed zones (0.4 to 1.3 metres and one metre to infinity). The camera weights around 450 grams (15.8 ounces) and is compatible with Polaroid i-Type and 600 film. The camera has a custom-designed shutter system with a precision step motor to ensure accurate exposures.
The Polaroid Now Generation 3 is available in six colors (Graphite, Purple, Arctic Blue, Yellow, Pebble, and Coral) and costs $120.
The Polaroid Now+ Generation 3 Instant Camera looks like the basic Now camera. It has the same updated sensors and focusing mechanism as its sibling, as well as the same lens, but it also includes Polaroid app connectivity, allowing users to connect to the camera via smartphone and control it remotely. The Now+ has a built-in battery that recharges via USB-C to power its wireless connectivity.
The Polaroid Now+ Generation 3 costs $140, a $20 premium over its predecessor, and is available in four colors.
Polaroid i-Type film is available in color and black and white, and starts at $16.99 per pack, which contains eight exposures. Polaroid now provides triple packs, which save $1 every pack. Polaroid color and black and white 600 film, which varies from i-Type since it includes a battery that is not required for either of the new cameras, costs $19.99 per pack.
