Polarr Launches the Polarr Next AI Web-Based Photo Editor
Polarr has launched Polarr Next Public Beta 1.0. Polarr Next, which builds on the company’s experience with artificial intelligence and photo editing solutions, is the world’s first user-trainable AI photo editor that adapts to user inputs in real time, and it promises to revolutionize how professional photographers deal with massive batches of raw photographs.
Polarr Next is also unusual in terms of how the user interacts with it; it is a web app. Users can leverage web APIs such as WebAssembly, WebGPU, and WebGL to do end-to-end AI batch editing in a suitable browser. Polarr Next now only works on Google Chrome and supports a variety of RAW image formats, but not Nikon.NEF files. Because the program is in rapid development, support will most likely be expanded in the near future.
Even if Polarr Next operates within an internet browser, the business claims that it does not upload user files to a server, guaranteeing that a person’s images stay private.
“Polarr Next is designed for scenarios where every photo needs to be perfect. It frees photographers from mundane bulk editing tasks, allowing them to devote more time to their passion,” the company says.
Polarr Next allows users to train their own personalized AI editing tool in real time, resulting in consistent and unique picture modifications built on a carefully defined aesthetic. If a photographer color grades in a specific way, the AI will immediately learn and apply that to hundreds of other photographs.
Polarr Next includes conventional picture editing capabilities like color corrections and grading, brushing, subject and background masks, automatic lens correction, automatic straightening, and perspective corrections. It uses common keyboard keys for many editing and navigation operations and automatically imports ratings and color labels from other apps. Users can also import or convert existing image editing presets for use as foundation edits in Polarr Next.
Polarr Next aspires to cut picture editing process times by at least 80% for professionals, especially those in wedding, event, sports, real estate, and portrait photography. Polarr is currently developing and refining its new software with the goal of making AI model training easier, faster, and more engaging. Future versions will include AI culling, additional editing tools, and a variety of pre-trained AI styles.
Users receive limitless AI editing and 2,000 exports for free without providing any payment information. However, more exports will cost money. The Founders Unlimited tier costs $50 per month (paid annually for $599) and includes unlimited AI modifications and exports. This is only available to the first 500 subscribers. Following that, the monthly fee will climb to $130 ($1,559 per year).
Monthly tiers begin at $60 per month, while pay-as-you-go options cost $0.05 per export. When paying as you go, users still get unlimited AI modifications and only pay for exports after the first 2,000.
