ProGrade Unveils the 512GB V90 UHS-II SDXC Cobalt Series Memory Card
ProGrade Digital has announced a new UHS-II V90 class 512GB SD card that will never dip below a sustained write speed of 90 MB/s. The company says it is one of the first to introduce and ship a card capable of these sustained write speeds at this capacity. ProGrade Digital, which was founded by industry veterans from Lexar and SanDisk, says each component of the card is tested down to individual memory chips to ensure the best performance and reliability possible.
“Today’s creative pioneers are producing more video than ever before,” said Wes Brewer, founder, and CEO of ProGrade Digital. “With the extensive range of recording options in today’s high-end professional camera market, such as RAW 8K, 6K, 5K, 4K, UHD, High Bit Rate MPEG at varying frames per second (fps), many of which require high capacity, and high-performance memory cards. We have added this higher capacity 512GB, SD V90 memory card to our SDXC Cobalt product line to serve these needs.”
The company says that its high-capacity SDXC UHS-II V90 512GB memory card slots into its Cobalt class of media, which means it promises sustained read speeds of up to 300 MB/s and sustained write speeds of up to 250 MB/s, but will never dip below 90 MB/s write speeds at any point through the capacity of the card.
The 512GB Cobalt SD card is both X-ray and shockproof, and capable of operating between -25ºC and 85ºC. It also features built-in error correction that detects and corrects data write and data transfer errors.
ProGrade Digital’s Cobalt cards come with a three-year warranty. The New 512 GB variant joins the 256GB, 128GB, and 64GB capacities available in the Cobalt line and will retail for $500.
