ProGrade Digital has released its third-generation CFexpress Type B Gold series memory card to provide faster-sustained write speeds that can better meet the demands of high-resolution video cameras. ProGrade says this new card generation has many of the same quality features as the second-generation card — such as PCIe Gen 3 interconnect with an NVMe 1.3 host controller interface — but improves the sustained write speeds. The new cards now provide read speeds of up to 1,700 MB/s, burst write speeds of up to 1,500 MB/s, and sustained write speeds of up to 1,300 MB/s.

Other features include a metal enclosure for improved durability and heat dissipation, thermal throttling, which protects the card from overheating, and extended battery life and low standby power through NVMe PS0 – PS4 support. The cards are also X-ray and shockproof, come with a three-year warranty, and are laser etched with unique serial numbering for tracking key components and manufacturing data for what ProGrade promises is the highest degree of quality control.
