ShiftCam New SnapSeries Accessories for SnapGrip

ShiftCam is creating a new line of accessories for its SnapGrip mobile photography grips called “SnapSeries” as part of an Indiegogo crowdfunding effort. The aim is to take the SnapGrip and SnapGrip Pro, both of which use MagSafe, and expand the range of what the grips can accomplish when combined with the new gear.

The latest SnapSeries launch includes an improved SnapGrip Pro with Qi2 wireless charging, which can charge a compatible iPhone with 15W of electricity. According to ShiftCam, the Pro’s battery is 58% larger than the SnapGrip Classic. Otherwise, the SnapGrip Pro works as it always has, with the same grip design, shutter button, and Bluetooth connection. There do not appear to be any new color varieties, with stone and midnight still the only options.

The system’s new accessories include the SnapStudio Light, which ShiftCam claims is 38% smaller than a standard ring light. It has color temperature and brightness adjustments and produces 440 lumens on batteries or 600 lumens when connected to a USB-C power supply.

There are also three stands to provide height and stability to images or videos. The SnapStand Mini is the shortest at 8 inches tall, while the SnapStand Selfie stretches to 10 inches (2.5 feet), and the SnapStand Max extends from 1.5 to 6 feet with a foldable head and magnetic click. All are available in the same stone and midnight color versions as the SnapGrip Pro.

ShiftCam claims that the SnapSeries ecosystem will have nine interchangeable elements when you consider existing Snap accessories such as the SnapPod, SnapLight, SnapShoe, and Snap SSD. Because they all use MagSafe on both sides, they can stack on top of each other, allowing you to use one of the stands and ring lights with the SnapGrip or SnapGrip Pro.

The startup is aiming for vloggers who don’t want to lug heavy equipment when out in the field. SnapSeries gear might theoretically function with other MagSafe-compatible attachments, thus a SnapGrip is not required to utilize them. If you have an Android phone case, such as Peak Design’s Everyday Case, an iPhone isn’t required. ShiftCam will also feature a magnetic sticker for devices that are not MagSafe compatible.

The accessories range in price from $94 for just the mobile battery grip to $352 if backers want everything.
