Sirui Announces Two New Full-Frame Carbon Fiber Anamorphic Lenses
Sirui has launched two new full-frame carbon fiber anamorphic lenses for its Saturn Series, available in 50mm and 75mm focal lengths, following the success of its 35mm lens. The new trio of lenses weigh less than 500 grams each, making them the world’s lightest full-frame anamorphic lenses.
The new high-ratio T2.9 manual lenses will be available with six possible mounts, including Sony E-mount, Canon RF-mount, Fujifilm X-mount, Nikon Z-mount, Panasonic/Leica L-mount, and DJI DL-mount formats, according to the business. The lenses can give a classic blue or natural flare in a constant 1.6x squeeze ratio for an oval and extended bokeh pattern and powerful compression to separate the subject from the frame’s backdrop and foreground.
The minimum focus distance for each of the three lenses is 0.9 meters. Lens lengths range from 100 to 116 millimeters, with a maximum weight of 390 to 472 grams depending on the camera mount. Furthermore, the 35mm lens has a filter thread of 58mm, while the 50mm and 75mm primes have a thread of 62mm.
The 50mm version of the lens has 17 elements in 12 groups and 10 aperture blades, while the 75mm version has 15 elements in 11 groups and 14 aperture blades, allowing the company to claim a high center sharpness with low chromatic aberration and minimal focus breathing for a cinematic look and feel. The apertures on all three lenses range from T2.9 to T16.
The lenses’ front barrels are built of lightweight carbon fiber, and high-precision glass molding aspherical elements have been used to minimize overall lens weight within each lens version. Because of its light weight and tiny size, the Sirui Saturn Full-frame Carbon Fiber Anamorphic Lens is suitable for handheld, gimbal, and even FPV drone or DJI Ronin 4D mounted shots. Because the focus and aperture control rings are situated in identical gear positions across the set, swapping lenses should be quick and simple.
The hues of the flares shift with the light source, according to Sirui, when utilizing the natural flare version of the lenses, whilst the classic blue flare version creates a more sci-fi/mystery feel. “With this lens kit, you get two flare options tailored to your taste.”
The new Saturn Series 50mm and 75mm carbon fiber anamorphic lenses will be available for pre-order on Indiegogo today, November 27th, 2023, for $1,099. Shipping is scheduled to begin on December 1st, 2023.
