SmallRig is one of the first third-party camera accessory makers to release a cage for the Leica SL3. Following the debut of the Leica SL3 last week, SmallRig has already created a custom cage kit for the superb mirrorless camera. Indeed, the Leica SL3 appears to be a promising camera for content creators and filmmakers, thanks to its new 60MP Full-Frame BSI CMOS image sensor, tilting touchscreen and OLED EVF, 5-axis IBIS, and ability to capture 8K footage internally at 30 frames per second or ProRes 422HQ footage in 1080p60.

The SmallRig cage for the Leica SL3 is composed of aluminum and titanium alloy and weighs 228 g/8oz. It securely attaches to your camera via three mounting points: one 1/4″-20 screw at the bottom, and two that link to the camera strap eyelets.

The cage’s left, right, and bottom sides include 1/4″-20 threaded holes. The cage’s top features a cold shoe mount, a 3/8″-16 mounting point with ARRI locating holes, and four 1/4″-20 mounting points.

The cage’s right front side features a built-in grip with silicone padding for easy handling. The cage’s bottom features an ARCA Swiss plate that is compatible with the DJI Ronin RS 2/RS 3/RS 3 Mini and Pro gimbals. The SmallRig cage kit for the Leica SL3 has a removable quick-release cable clamp on the left side. This cable clamp works well for anchoring both full-size HDMI and USB-C cables.

Finally, you may personalize your SmallRig cage by engraving your name and attaching an optional custom magnetic logo plate to the left side of the camera.
