Tamron Announces the 20-40mm f/2.8 Di II VxD Zoom Lens for Sony E-mount
Tamron has announced the release of a new 20-40mm f/2.8 Di II VXD zoom lens for Sony E-mount full-frame cameras. The 20-40mm f/2.8 will probably end up being the go-to lens for travel, street photography, everyday carry, and unplanned photo opportunities due to its small size, which makes it easy to carry, and its low weight, which is ideal for prolonged handheld shooting.

The 20-40mm f/2.8 Di III VXD from Tamron follows the trend of recent lenses having a particularly close focusing distance with a minimum focus distance of 6.7 inches and a maximum magnification ratio of 1:3.8 at the wide end, allowing for wide macro-style shooting.
The autofocus drive system uses the VXD linear motor focus mechanism. The high-speed, high-precision AF enables the lens to respond to the creative intentions of the photographer by making focusing quick and definite, even with fast-aperture lenses, from the MOD to infinity.
