Tamron Confirms it Has Three New Mirrorless Lenses Planned for 2020
Inside the Tamron’s full-year financial report there is a little detail that hints at Tamron revealing three new, unannounced lenses for mirrorless cameras, for a total of five lenses this year.
The revelation is included in a lens roadmap graphic, which lists all of the new lenses that Tamron has released over the past three years. For the year 2020, the chart shows the two lenses that have already been announced—the Tamron 20mm f/2.8 and Tamron 70-180mm f/2.8—but also reveals that “5 models are planned.”
It’s unknown what the three new lenses will be, but rumors says that all three will be E-mount lenses.
Other details in the report include a statement claiming Tamron expects “the sales of own-brand mirrorless lens models is expected to increase the sales compare to the previous year”, and “the backorders on the 17-28mm f/2.8 RXD (A046) are expected to be cleared by the end of this month.”
This means they might be ready to start the 70-180mm f/2.8 FE lens production.
The lens pricing and the preorder is likely to be announced on February 27.
