The Emerging Photographer Fund 2019: Last Day Before the Deadline
The Emerging Photographer Fund, Burn Magazine project, is designed to support continuation of a photographer’s personal project, or emerging career. This body of work may be of either journalistic mission or purely personal artistic imperatives. There is no age limit, and no limit as to how many projects you may enter. Projects submitted may be ongoing, or finished.
This year The Emerging Photographer Fund awarded is $10,000.
Additionally, a separate Fujifilm Young Talent Award of $10,000 is awarded for a photographer under 25.
Both awards are not mutually exclusive.
Submission deadline is June 5th 2019, 5:59 AM
Editor’s note:
“Burn Magazine revolves around the Emerging Photographer Fund. Our most important curatorial contribution to the oftentimes chaotic landscape of photography today.
Each year, we choose a jury whose lifetimes have been spent in looking at photographs and making photographs, and on burnmagazine.org we try to give our readers a distilled version of the best work of all that flows before their eyes every day.
Most importantly our mission is to give recognition to the finest emerging authors out there and to provide some funding to at least a few to keep going and to continue making a mark. Our previous winners prove this is not in vain.”
– David Alan Harvey
The Emerging Photographer Fund was initiated by David Alan Harvey in 2008, is funded privately by Michael Loyd Young through the Magnum Cultural Foundation.
The Fujifilm Young Talent Award is funded by Fujifilm.
The Emerging Photographer Fund is run by Diego Orlando & Anton Kusters.
