TTArtisan Unveils the 7.5mm f/2.0 APS-C Fisheye Lens
TTArtisan is a young Chinese lens manufacturer founded in 2019 that specializes in fully manual photography lenses. The company already released a dozen lenses in less than two years at aggressive prices, including the $98 priced TTArtisan 50mm f/1.2 lens for APS-C/M43 cameras and the $80 priced TTArtisan 35mm f/1.4. And today they released an incredibly affordable fisheye lens for APS-C cameras: the TTArtisan 7.5mm f/2.0. This compact and lightweight piece of glass is available in 7 different lens mounts, and it retails for only $150.00.
The lens is constructed of 11 elements in eight groups, including two low-dispersion elements and three high-refractive index elements. It features a minimum focusing distance of 12.5cm, uses a seven-blade aperture diaphragm, and has an aperture range of f/2 through f/11. Due to the front element extending beyond the front of the lens, no filters can be used without third-party adapters. However, photographers can mount filters at the back of the lens, and it even comes with an ND1000 ND filter.
This 7.5mm f/2 piece is entirely made out of metal, and it is very compact at only 53/59mm long by 72mm wide, for a weight of 343/370g, depending on the lens mount.
The lens is available for Canon EOS-M, Canon RF, Fujifilm X, Leica L, Micro Four Thirds, Nikon Z, and Sony E mount camera systems. However, due to it being an APS-C lens, full-frame cameras will need to be used in crop shooting mode or crop in post-production to avoid a circle vignetting.
