Yongnuo Releases a New 35mm f/2 Autofocus Lens for Nikon Z

Yongnuo has unveiled the YN35mm f/2Z DF DSM, a new 35mm f/2 autofocus lens for Nikon Z-mount camera systems. According to Yongnuo, it has been working hard in recent years to expand its selection of autofocus lenses and is pleased with the number and caliber of the optics it has so far been able to offer. One of the most recent examples is the 35mm f/2Z DF DSM.

The autofocus lens comprises nine elements in eight groups, including one aspherical, two high-refractive index, and extra-low dispersion elements. It has a minimum focusing distance of.35m (13.8″), a seven-blade aperture diaphragm, an f/2 through f/16 aperture range, and a 52m front filter thread. The full-frame (61.3-degree angle of view) YN 35mm f/2 Z DF DSM lens uses the most recent “nano-multi-layer coating technology,” which the manufacturer claims will effectively increase light transmittance and reduce glare and backlight ghost images.

An AF/MF toggle is located on the side of the barrel of the autofocus system, which uses a digital stepping motor (DSM) to alternate between auto and manual focus as needed. Additionally, it has a built-in USB-C port for firmware updates and a custom function button on the barrel that can be set up on Z-mount cameras that are compatible.

Here are some sample pictures:

The focus ring can also be a control ring if you wish to alter the aperture, ISO, exposure compensation, etc. The lens weighs 290g, with dimensions of 68mm (2.7″) by 73mm (2.9″), and is made of aluminum (10.2oz). To further protect against the elements, the rear mount features a rubber seal.

The lens is currently listed as available only in China, costing roughly $250.
