ZHIYUN Releases the MOLUS G60 and MOLUS X100 Led Lights
ZHIYUN, a Chinese gimbal manufacturer, unveiled the MOLUS G60 and MOLUS X100 as prototypes at the CP+ event in Japan.
The new MOLUS G60 has a power output of 60 Watts and is tiny enough to fit in any camera bag. The body is only 300gr and measures 9×6.6×6.6cm. It’s as small as a Rubik’s Cube and fits in your hand. A multi-voltage AC adapter, a power adapter organizer bag, and a reflector are all included with the MOLUS G60. With an optional USB-C charging cable, the fixture can quickly charge a battery that can be used wirelessly.
The MOLUS G60 features a variable color range between 2700 and 6500K, a high CRI/TLCI rating of 96 or 97, and dims from 0 to 100%. Two buttons on the back, a small LCD screen, and the Zhiyun ZY Vega app can be used to change the color and brightness of the device remotely.
The MOLUS G60 has a DynaVort Cooling System with heat sinks and FOC fans to avoid overheating. According to the company, DynaVort technology’s sophisticated regulation of airflow emissions should increase cooling efficiency. To determine whether the fan noise interferes with a shooting setup, the cooling system must be evaluated in real-world settings, just like with any new lighting fixture.
In addition to the tiny reflector and dome diffuser included with the MOLUS G60, Zhiyun also provides a combo kit to boost the light output. The kit also contains a micro tripod, a Bowens mount adapter, and a small softbox with a grid in addition to the reflector and diffuser.
The new MOLUS X100 is a bi-color light with a 100W output. The color temperature can be adjusted from 2.700 to 6.500K, and the brightness can be dimmed from 0 to 100% using the two buttons on the side. It has a tiny LCD panel to display the current settings, and the ZY Vega app may be used to make any necessary adjustments.
Various lighting modifiers can be attached to the little MOLUS X100, which has an unusual shape for an LED fixture. DC power or an optional X100 grip battery that fastens to the fixture directly are both options for powering it. The proprietary battery offers a 30-minute run duration and a 2.5-hour charge time. Although a USB-C charging cable can also power the light, a PD fast charger with an input exceeding 100W is preferred.
